Breakfast before Noon

LAKE TEGERNSEE: I am still in the countryside and as you already know I enjoy inviting friends to my house. The usual invitation would be a Sunday lunch or a Friday night dinner. But this weekend I will organise a typical Bavarian Weißwurst Frühstück which consists of freshly made Weißwürste (white sausages), which you have to buy at a good butcher, because every butcher has his own recipe and some are better than others. You drink a chilled Weißbier for breakfast and eat some freshly baked pretzels. Do not forget the sweet mustard which should not be too sweet.

The cooking is easy – you just boil the water, switch off the heat and let the sausages steep for a while. For dessert I make a rich dark chocolate cake instead of a Bavarian cream because I think that the sweet bitter chocolate is the perfect ending for that meal. Make sure you have the best ingredients for that simply and quick made breakfast. I buy my sausages at Metzgerei Killer in Dürnbach, Miesbacher Straße 3 in Gmund am Tegernsee, the pretzels at Bäckerei Grabmaier, Marktplatz 8 in Miesbach, Hopf Weißbier, and organic sweet mustard from Byodo.
