the beautiful classroom at the new Ecole Van Cleef & Arpels

PARIS: Very recently Van Cleef & Arpels, opened the l’École Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery school, where a progression of à la carte courses gives students a glimpse into this fine art of jewellery making, imparting a keen eye for stones and an appreciation of the craftsmanship that goes into turning them from rocks into glittering works of art.

The curriculum at l’École Van Cleef & Arpels is meant to be non-technical and experience-based, gradually introducing students to the craft by expanding their knowledge of the materials and their understanding of the aesthetic. Taught in English and French, the course is divided into three levels – ‘Unveiling’, ‘Shedding Light On’ and ‘Revealing’ – each designed to be the natural progression from the last, and each divided into 4-hour classes called ‘chapters’.

So if you plan to learn something new during your summer vacation book a class now and you will be able to create your own jewellery very soon.

IRMA

brings good news to you.
She lives and travels around
the world, stopping wherever
she sees something interesting,
reporting on what inspires her.
She finds beauty in the
most varied places,
from fashion shows
to art exhibits, from lonely
beaches to bustling cities.

WHERE IS IRMA NOW?

MUNICH

When in Munich my
favorite store to look
for the best selection
of clothes is THERESA.
The staff is competent
and always has the
best ideas for styling
and mixing different
designers together.
