A Beautiful Day

the QMS institute on 43 Cadogan Gardens

LONDON: When I walk into the QMS Medicosmetics Flagship Skincare Spa in London I feel immediately in the right place to get a perfect facial. The white walls of this Chelsea spa showcase QMS Medicosmetics’ unique collection of sophisticated skincare and facial treatments personally created by Dr. Erich Schulte, one of Europe’s most renowned and pioneering cosmetic surgeons. From cleansing facials to skin regenerating to corrective and anti-ageing facials, this hi-tech collection is specially designed for the best results in modern skincare.

Emily, my therapist, treats me with her skilled hands, and the most effective products of Dr. Schulte QMS MediCosmetics smell and feel fantastic on my skin. She never leaves the treatment room and I keep on feeling her fingers on my face and neck. After an hour of intensive skin care I leave the center on clouds with a beautiful glow on my skin.

Sleep next to the Park

The ‘frenchie burger’ I order at Bar Boulud

LONDON: The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is my first choice for a perfect weekend in London. Situated on one side on busy Knightsbridge just opposite Harvey Nichols and on the other side my room has the view over Hyde Park with the beautiful trees and the boating lake.

This hotel has plenty of charming opposites. The Mandarin spa which makes you feel like you are  in a sanctuary far away someplace in Asia and the busy lunch and dinner at the hotel Bar Boulud, where you can enjoy house-made terrines, pâtés, hams and saucissons all produced under the guidance of Gilles Verot, one of France’s finest charcutiers. I make my lunch appointments here and order a coq au vin and moules and a glass of red Burgundy.

The good thing is that you will not have to go far for your riding lesson in the morning. When I come back to the hotel I have a home-cooked breakfast of fresh eggs with herbs on homemade bread with a beautiful view of the park. Is there a better way to start your day in a busy city like London?

Menue du Prince

My room at Chateau Eza
Château Eza on the French Riviera
Stunning views from the restaurant terrace
Michelin-starred cuisine at the restaurant

Eze: Today I have the pleasure to have lunch at the Château Eza which is an enchanting hotel and restaurant tucked away in one of the most exciting sites on the Côte d’Azur. Pretty as a postcard, the château clings to the side of the ancient rock walls of Eze, a thousand-year-old medieval village more than 1300 feet above the Mediterranean Sea.

It is a castle of stone on a narrow cobblestone street, too small for modern-day automobiles. The view is stunning and the food is delicious and light. The perfect place for a short getaway at the weekend where you feel so perfectly set on your hotel balcony that you don’t want to leave the hotel at all.

Sunshine, Wind & Salt

Moroccan Oil Moisture Restorative Hair Mask

ST. TROPEZ: I am looking forward to be near the sea as often as I can this summer. A day at the beach is the best. I just cannot get out of the water, where I love to swim or surf in the waves and when I get tired there is nothing more comfortable than to just let yourself fall on a matelas, still wearing your wet bikini and let yourself dry from the sunshine. The only bad thing is the damage you will do to your hair. It will get dry and dull and when you get back home you have to spend some time and money to get the healthy glow back into your hair again.

I use Moroccan Oil Moisture Restorative Hair Mask, which is a therapeutic remedy that penetrates deep into the hair to help reconstruct and rebuild, undoing damage done by chemicals and other environmental elements like the sun and wind. It will help to bring out the inner health again, leaving incredible moisture and shine. My tip is to use it in the morning before you go to the beach and whenever you come out of the water. That way you will profit from the heat of the sunlight because the mask will penetrate the hair structure much more effectively.

Beautiful Yellow

A room at the Le Crayon, Paris

PARIS: It happens every year at the same time. I find myself buying a garment or an accessory in bright yellow. My skin is not ready for that colour yet and the light outside is also not necessarily flattering for this shade, but somehow it is a tradition and I keep on enjoying that colour around me. That is also why I stay this week at the Hotel Le Crayon in Paris which is full of bright colours and ideas which the artist Julie Gauthron created for the 27 rooms The walls are covered with sketches and the furnishing is happy and often yellow.
