My favorite müsli recipes

Twenty years later Mamma Accordi and her talented son cooking together at the Four Seasons Hotel in Prague, the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Eastern Europe.

This week, IRMA introduces her favorite pieces from the spring/summer collection 2010 on Among her must-haves for the upcoming spring season are a simple Stella McCartney denim skirt, a striped Marc Jacobs tunic that can be worn as a mini dress, honey yellow, strappy high-heel Jimmy Choo sandals, and an eclectic Lanvin brooch to add flair and sparkle to ballet flats or a simple canvas tote.
After a long winter it is time to think about spring. Look at your clothes from last summer season and see how you can optimise for example your favorite trench. Get inspired by the new Burberry Prorsum Collection and do it yourself.
Watching the Prada show for autum/winter 2011 makes me think of long walks in the woods wearing fragile dresses with patterns reflecting light and nature, coming home with rosy cheeks.

The music makes me wear this dress.
She is wearing a night gown by Sabbia Rosa, silk stockings by Fogal and a pearl bracelet by mikimoto.
Isabel Marant fall/winter collection 2010/11
This collection makes me think of Marilyn Monroe. I imagine hanging out in my bungalow in the Hollywood Hills, reading a book by Françoise Sagan.
I will see the dancer Carolyn Carlson dance at the Chaillot Theater in Paris, from March 18 to 20.
The Grand Tirolia Resort in Kitzbühel offers the perfect breakfast for skiers in the morning: fresh fruit, homemade cereal, the finest ham, cheeses and homemade bread. But best of all are the chef’s cereals. Note those recipes which give you all the energy for a day outside.

Bircher Müsli

500 gr rolled oats
2 liters milk
5 apples
250 gr coarsely ground almonds
Orange juice
3-4 bananas

Soak the oats in milk, add grated aples. Roast the almonds in a pan until golden, then add them to the oats and apples. Season with 3 or 4 tablespoons of honey and add ca. 150-200 ml orange juice for a fresh, fruity taste. Let the mixture soak over night. If required, fold in some freshly whipped cream the next day (made from ca. 500-750 ml cream). Add some chopped bananas just before serving.

Knusper Müsli

750 gr sunflower seeds
500 gr rolled oats
Brown sugar

Roast the oats and sunflower seeds with some 100 gr brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of honey at low temperatures until golden and let them cool off. If the mixture sticks together, break up with a spoon. Enjoy with joghurt of your choice.

In the first week of February I will be going to Prague for a weekend only to eat at Andrea Accordi’s restaurant ALLEGRO at the Four Seasons Hotel. Andrea is the only cook in eastern Europe who has been awarded with a Michelin star.
The special occasion for my visit will be the fact that his mother Teresa will be in town to cook together with her son in the same kitchen. She is famous for her wonderful Venetian dishes, and in any event must have been the first inspiration for Andrea to start thinking about cooking. I am looking forward to her Venetian calf liver, the stewed stock fish in milk with sautéed bitter herbs and of course the wonderful Italian desserts she will be making.

Snow & Sun

In the early evening I like to taste a glass of excellent wine at Legrand Filles et Fils. The old-fashioned wine and food shop (1, rue de la Banque, 2ième arr., Paris) has opened a wine bar next to the shop. The atmosphere is wood-and-wicker warm with large glass windows looking onto the Galerie Vivienne, perhaps the most beautiful indoor shopping mall in Paris.

The best time for the Grand-Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina is in February when the days are longer and the sun is out almost every day. I always spend the last two weeks of the month at this wonderful hotel which still has the authentic charm of an old grand hotel with a modern twist and comfortable luxury.

I prefer the Spa Suites which are on the ground level with a lovely view over the snow-covered gardens and only a few steps away from one of the best spas in Switzerland. The spa treatments take place in private suites with fantastic views into the snow-white countryside. All products are by Alpienne, an organic beauty company which only uses ingredients from the Alps.

The slopes are nearby and St. Moritz only a ten-minute drive away, in case I feel like enjoying a hot chocolate at Hanselmann after some window shopping. But most of the time I love to stay in the tranquility of the hotel after a day on the slopes. After a swim in the infinity pool with underwater music I relax in front of a fireplace in one of the numerous halls near the lobby or meet with friends at the Kronenstübli (16 points at Gault Millau) for dinner.

Make sure to choose a hotel room by the quality of your sleep. It should be calm, well aired and furnished with natural materials like a wooden floor. Take advantage of the pillow selection which is now offered by most hotels and always have a large glass of water next to your bed. It will humidify the room and yourself during the night.
Momofuku in New York City is one of my favorite restaurants at the moment: I visit the Bakery & Milk Bar in the morning and go out with my boyfriend to Ssäm Bar at night. Momufuku means lucky peach in Japanese and that is exactly how I feel when I eat the buttermilk salad with apple dashi.
Today Daylesford Organic will open an organic supermarket and deli in Munich. Just wait and see, but I am sure it will be full of healthy and special food ideas.
The food emporium just published their own cooking book, Momofuku by David Chang and Peter Meehan, published by Clarkson Potter.
This postcard was found in my goodybag which was waiting for me at the hotel during the Bambi Night. I will make it my own personal Christmas card.
Last night I met with some friends at Aroma, one of my favorite Italian restaurants in New York. The five-course tasting menu on Monday is a great way to sample their cuisine. I especially loved the warm beets with gorgonzola, walnuts and fig jam.
I recently came across a wonderful deli in Prague: The Bakeshop offers sweet treats like blueberry muffins and croissants with Calvados-apple-filling, as well as a selection of sourdough breads – of course it all comes from their own on-site bakery.

January is not the best time to be in Paris. But while I will spend a few days in the city, I am looking for warm and comfortable places at night after a day of sketching in the Louvre and buying some books at one of my favorite bookstores, The Red Wheelbarrow (13 rue Charles V, 4ième arr., Paris). The bookshop, owned by Penelope Fletcher Le Masson, is to Paris now what was Sylvia Beach’s  Shakespeare & Company bookshop to literary Paris of the 1920s and 30s. Her selection is well edited, the staff have read almost everything, and the cosy atmosphere is always buzzing with quirky discussions. Monthly readings and book signings draw electric crowds and it is worth a trip to the city – even in January.
