Museums and Yachts

Today I visited the studio of artist Tim Webb.  He is one of my favorite artists at the moment and I enjoy very much looking at his numerous sketchbooks. I just commissioned him for a portrait.
Venice Biennale, ready for opening night

"The opening night of the Venice Biennale is always the most exciting night of a week of exhibitions, openings and parties to come." -

The opening of the British Pavilion with the artist Steve McQueen. See for yourself!

I had a long morning walk today at the Lido beach to be ready for tonight: First the opening of the stunning new museum Punta della Dogana by Monsieur Pinault and afterwards a decktop dinner aboard Angela Missoni’s yacht (no shoes allowed on deck!).

Venice Biennale

There is nothing more exciting than visiting Venice during the Art Biennale. I always stay at the Lido to get some rest after the parties and long hours in the international pavilions of the Giardini. It’s the perfect mix of a city holiday and a beach vacation.

Today I wear some sterling silver jewelry from my IRMA for CADA collection at Cada. I always take some bangles and necklaces with me when I travel – they are my good luck charm and elegantly accessorize my summer looks.

For a quick snack and grocery shopping I go to ECHT BIO MARKT on Tengstrasse 31 in Munich, Tel.: 089 27374300. They have a great selection of artisan, organic bread and cakes and the personnel always has good advise when it comes to nutritional facts, diets or allergies.

Tushita Teehaus

In Munich I go for my five o’clock tea to the Tushita Teehaus.

Everything at Tushita is homemade and organic, the ambiance is beautiful and unique and the menu has the most exceptional teas, meals and pastries. Today I ordered hot saffron rice milk, spinach chicory salad with homemade veggie chips and a white ice tea with fresh white peaches. All cakes and pastries are vegan and so good for you.

Coming into the city from Munich Airport you see the Allianz Sport Arena, a stunning piece of architecture by Herzog & de Meuron.
My ideal house at the edge of the Englischer Garten would look just like this – if Russel Wright were still available.
One of my favorite areas in Munich is the Pinakotheken area, home to the Modern, New and Old Pinakothek. I walk through these museums as if walking through the woods, glancing at art from various ages.
Two art fans in front of the Haus der Kunst. The museum has long museum nights (Thursdays until 10 pm) and a great bookstore from Ilka König where I buy most of my art books and gifts.

"I love looking at fast cars and beautiful design – I find both at Pinakothek der Moderne." -

I buy two scoops of pine nut ice cream at BallaBeni, the best ice cream maker in town. Afterwards I go to the Museum Brandhorst to sit in my favorite room for a few moments.

Whenever I have a free moment I ask Gaby, my yoga teacher, for a private lesson at wherever I am. She is honest, intense, very nice and makes my body do the most extraordinary things.

favorite store to look
